FILM

the ethereal colors, that perfect grittiness of grain, the imperfections, & that dreamy feeling of nostalgia. Film simply captures the true essence of
any timeless moment.

IT JUST FEELS DIFFERENT

How did you get into film?

The first camera I ever touched was a 35mm film camera when I was 5 years old. My Father got that camera while stationed in the Marine Corps in Japan in the 1980's. I still have and shoot with this camera along with others.

PS. He gave me that camera so I would stop complaining during all our hiking trips when I was a kid. Shhh... don't tell him it worked!

What camera's  & film stock do you use?

Camera's I use: Mamiya 645 Pro, Pentax 645N, Canon 1-N, Canon AE-1, Canon Sureshot Supreme & Zoom, Minolta XD11 & X700, Polaroid OneStep +, Fuji Instax wide & mini.

I typically always stick to Kodak Portra 400 & Portra 800. When I shoot B&W, I will either shoot Ilford or Cinestill XX.

02

How many photos do you get and what do you charge?

A typical roll of film is 24-36 exposures with 35mm & 15 exposures with 120mm. All of my wedding packages include film. Ranging from 5-10 rolls per wedding. With any session booked, it will include 1/2 a roll to a full roll of film. If wanting more film during your session it will be an additional $75 per roll.

03

Are you guaranteed every photo to turn out perfect?

Film forces me to be more intentional with each photo I take. The imperfections of film and not having instant gratification is half the fun! I have never had a roll of film not turn out and the chances of that are pretty slim!

04

What about Polaroids?

I give you free polaroids at the end of each Wedding Day! and YES, that is included in every wedding package. Something to go home with while you are waiting for your sneak peek's & full gallery. Plus, they are just so much fun!

Kodoac Portra is one of the most popular film stocks on the market. It has a great color palette and great color reproduction. It is my favorite and most versatile film stocks to use!

I am obsessed with black and white and I do not usually stick with one kind of B&W film stock. I will shoot with Cinestill xx, Kodak T-max, Ilford, and more.

Cinestill uses a design similar to motion picture film and is so much fun! I shoot this primarily next to Portra. I am always so pleased with how this film turns out.

Polaroids are just so much fun! My Polaroid One Step+ has features such as double exposure. I enjoy shooting B&W with my One Step more than color film. I shoot more color on my Fuju Instax Wide. They are two different sizes of film but both perfect.
